The artistic sign therefore creates representation, or interdicts and suspends, establishing with the ideas of a particular relationship. It opens first of all to the subject of evocative possibilities. It makes itself in turn be crossed and pushes the latter to cross themselves, rediscovering themselves in the condition to think about and start from self.

At the symbolic order was destroyed and representation was completely destroyed. No sign, no symbol had any longer been able to evoke, to make people think, to allow thinking and provide things to think about. The representation had become hyper-representation (the SS embodied perfectly and without remains, it exhausted, the very idea of a superman) situated outside every symbolic awareness. Auschwitz was born with the risk of not being able to make people think by posterity.
